    2. @shelltoon as much as I dislike the Twilight series, agreed. We have no right to demand acceptance while shoving another fandom down.

    3. @shelltoon Agreed. Goodness knows I don't like the Twilight franchise and have more often than not stuck up my nose at it, but since discovering MLP and becoming such a huge fan of it, it's definitely a tad hypocritical of me to look down on other people for their interests. Faust certainly speaks with an air of truth. I think from now on, I'm going to do my best to be more accepting of people's interests and fandoms. Just because I don't like, doesn't mean nobody should after all :) (Also, can totally relate to being in the closet about Trek at school, only with me it was more with Doctor Who XD )

    5. @shelltoon yeah, I have kind of felt that way as well. though I can't be held responsible for my actions if a girl states that Twilight is a better romance film than Casablanca... I'm sorry but there is love and tolerance and then there is standing idly by, not stopping an atrocity.

    6. @shelltoon I agree in theory, however, there is a difference between being a dork and being a.. whatever certain Twilight fans are. The same applies to any fandom (even this one), but Twilight seems to have the highest visible concentration of.. questionable individuals. Still, if you're going to judge, judge the individual, not the group.

    7. @applebloomsarepetalknives actually, going through it, Twilight is scary. It's about a girl who doesn't think for herself, allows her boyfriend to yell at her, mentally and emotionally abuse her, tell her he's doing it for her own good, tell her periodically he hates her, but it's because he loves her. She can't do anything for herself.. she's in abusive relationships the entire series and it's romanticizing it for little girls. It makes me sick when I hear kids go "oh.. I wish I had a relationship like that". I would be mangoesED if a guy treated my daughter like that. As most dads would, I'd hope. It's DANGEROUS to offer that as a "good" thing for girls. it's really just sickening to me that it is acceptable to tell girls it's okay to let guys abuse you.
