Adrian Brony (adrianbrony)

  1. So... I was out with soem friends at a bar earlier. They were all drinking beer, I was drinking 50% ABV whiskey... I managed to be the only one to NOT get drunk (aside from the DD, of course.)

  2. @thephilosophicalbrony first of all, a greater number of BRONIES are in favor of her not being changed. we are nowhere near the majority of fans. Second, it doesn't matter how many bronies want the show to be a certain way, because the last thing any show needs is its fanbase thinking the fans are the ones in control of the show. when that happens you will end up with an unpleasable fanbase because then the fans feel like they are entitled to something. If that is the case, that derpy was taken down, not because she was found offensive, but because hasbro realized that they were about to head down a path full of landmines, then the only thing the petitions will do is confirm that the fans feel entitled to their ideas being in the show.

  3. @thephilosophicalbrony but there weren't just 10 people complaining, and even if all the bronies were on board with saving derpy, that is still a minority of the shows viewerbase. and even if it was the majority, you forget that not EVERYTHING is a democracy. Companies are only a democracy if it is public and you are a shareholder. otherwise, no, you are not entitled to have your opinions on the matter decide for them, no matter how popular it is. Like I said before, hasbro has been facing criticism from all directions, and if yoh think this is just about ableism, you need to realize that when things got a little unpleasant for us, we totally lost it. hasbro no longer knows if they can trust us when we send people death threats over a background character. They don't want us to forget who is running the show.

  4. @thephilosophicalbrony that's not how petitions work. they are suggestions, not demands. all a petition is is basically saying "this many people feel this way about this issue." It isn't ignoring a petition to not do what it says.

  5. all right, I gotta get something off my chest about this # thing. Please keep a healthy sense pf perspective about this whole issue. Nobody hurt derpy, she doesn't feel bad, and she is not being picked on. She isn't real, and these videos and images that ate trying to act like she IS real are actually a little pathetic. If you feel real guilt over a fictional character, you need to take a break. Hasbro has been getting bombarded on all sides with people telling them what to do about this issue. Hasbro is faced with a very difficult issue and in the end, somebody is going to be unhappy with how this turns out. Probably everyone. It isn't Hasbro being some evil big heartless company, it's Hasbro trying to do the right thing when being watched by people who refuse to accept that their opinion isn't as obviously correct as they think it is. Finally, no matter what happens, please try to remember that we are not the main audience of this show, and we are not owed anything.

  7. @ponydude2143 the whois still goes to the netherlands like it used to. unless they sold the server itself to the trolls, it's not likely.

  8. @ponydude2143 it seems to still have the same people behind the site. even if it got hacked, it's still the responsibility of the people who own the site.

  9. MALWARE ALERT. THIS IS NO TROLL. Do NOT go to ponyarchive.org or ponyarchive.eu. the website will redirect after fifteen seconds to a gay porn shock site that will attempt to put a trojan on your computer. I repeat, DO NOT GO TO PONYARCHIVE, IT WILL INFECT YOUR COMPUTER

  11. @traptin85 because a bananas would totally set aside her own vision of what she thinks a massive project (which she is doing for free, by the way) should be like and change it to what she can tell is a disaster because she cares more about her friends satisfaction than her own career.

  13. @xtux345 nah, I'm a writer. which makes me wish they did friend-offs still. do a fic based on a piece of fanart and do fanart based on fics. that was so much fun

  14. !nebronies So I was at westroads with @nightwillow and we decided on a meeting place. for groups of 5 or less: Penguin Cafe, 6 to 8: scooters, 9-10 panera bread, and 10+ would be the food court.

  19. @carcino a toy costs like 4 bucks.

Tuesday, 29-Nov-11 23:55:13 UTC from web in context
  20. @carcino gotta support them somehow. they are rating the show's success on ratings AND toy sales. if you have to watch a livestream or youtube rip, then that is even more reason to spend a little money to encourage hasbro.

  21. @traptin85 !nebronies http://www.westroadsmall.com/directory here is the directory for anyone wanting to scout out more places.

Monday, 28-Nov-11 06:34:00 UTC from web in context
  22. @adrianbrony !nebronies I just found out there is a panera bread located there. it might be like scooters only with a more private environment. if it is, then it would probably be a better place to meet than scooter's, but only if the environment there is more cafe then restaurant.

Monday, 28-Nov-11 06:31:20 UTC from web in context
  23. @adrianbrony !nebronies there is also the arcade in the lower level, but because of the noise and size of it, it would be best not to meet up there, only move to there if we want to after meeting up.

Monday, 28-Nov-11 06:29:39 UTC from web in context
  24. @traptin85 of the locations I scouted, I found 3 particularly good places to meet up, at least initially before movng elsewhere if we wish: there is the scooter's near dick's. pros are that it is used to people meeting uup to chat, and might not expect everyone to order something, cons are it is not inside a lot, so it will be a bit noisier. there is the food court, where there is no expectation for anyone to buy anythng, but there will be even less provacy and atmosphere than scooter's. third s a smaller place that IS inside a lot called Penguin Cafe. they serve sushi and bubble tea, but have a very limited table space. I counted 3 tables with 3 chairs each, and a bar with 4 seats. We probably shouldn't meet there if we have more than five people showing up.

  25. @traptin85 well, I am free on sundays as well, at least for now. when would be your other free times? like, if Sunday would be top of your "available days" list, which would be your number 2 spot and so on?

Monday, 28-Nov-11 06:16:46 UTC from web in context
  26. !Nebronies to the group that met at westroads today, please call ahead before bringing in a big monitor and stealing most of the tables at a scooter's coffee place.

  29. @macpony55 batteries suck sometimes. I once had one of those cheapo controller unit things that plugs into the TV and had a bunch of crappy video games built in. Well it had a battery pack thing you put alkaline batteries in, but it also came with a DC plugin. I was a kid at the time so I had no idea that if both were in at the same time, it would make the batteries explode. battery acid dprayed out of the battery pack casing at the seams and almost got in my eyes. burned like hell.
