  1. @theyurityphoon As the God of sorcery, I must say that that is an unrealistic request.

  2. @stardustalchemistwitchmeruru It's just basic thermodynamics of real gasses, Van der Waals equation and such, nothing too fancy. Wait until I get to quantum and statistical physics.

  4. @rainbowsdash It does not make you stupid, nor is that a bad thing. What you watch is nobody else's business. If the King of the Gods can watch MLP, you can too. Skál!

  7. @thelastgherkin On a more serious note, I study theoretical physics with an additional optional astrophysics course now, which is even closer to what I always wanted to study than just astrophysics. The only problem in my life right now is my severe procrastination. If I solve that, I will easily be able to say that everything in my life is going literally perfectly.

  8. @thelastgherkin Indeed so. I, once again, took a break from my duties in Valhalla to mingle with ponies in Midgard.

  11. I started drawing on the 2nd of February. My first 3 drawings (which I actually posted here) were actually, in my opinion, pretty horrible. But after that, I believe I started improving. And then that seemed to stop. It might be because I started drawing more complicated things (as opposed to just pony faces from the front), but it's slightly disheartening. I uploaded my stuff to DeviantArt yesterday, actually, so here's a link to it: http://todiwan.deviantart.com/ And if you prefer this format, have an imgur album of everything I've done: http://imgur.com/a/0BsQJ#18 It's an ALBUM (many people don't notice), you can look at other pictures by clicking Next/Prev buttons on the right of the pics. All comments and criticisms (perhaps experiences from artists?) are very welcome and greatly appreciated.

  12. I switched from Windows XP to Windows 7 only a year ago. Windows XP was the first operating system that I used myself for an extended period of time, and it took quite a bit of pressure from a friend of mine to get me to finally switch to 7. However, his arguments were too strong, whereas mine were lacking, so I had no choice but to comply. Ever since I first set up the dual boot, and started using Windows 7, merely as a test, to see how I like it, I have not gone back to Windows XP - even once, even when there was a good reason to. The fact that I added 2 more GB of RAM to my existing 2GB, back when I was considering switching, also helped with my decision. However, I do not believe that Windows 8 is good in any way. I certainly hope that it will not become a standard any time soon, and statistics seem to show that it is not being adopted nearly as fast as XP. It is more comparable to Vista, if anything. I cannot wait to see what Microsoft comes up with after Windows 8.

  14. This site seems to be getting faster and faster. When I visited a little while ago, it was much slower compared to how fast it was shortly after its inception, but now it is faster. Apart from the recent drama about the site ownership, has anything interesting or notable happened?

  15. @ceruleanspark @doates Wonderful to see that whoever is running the site is paying attention. If only there was a more informative and less sensationalist article or documentary to present the situation to the masses, as well as an organization that will be more sincere.

  16. @ceruleanspark They are not a charity organization, they merely contribute to charities, though.

Friday, 09-Mar-12 23:25:30 UTC from web in context
  17. @ceruleanspark I would not outright label them a scam. Not all their goals are inherently detrimental. But they are far from genuine.

Friday, 09-Mar-12 23:21:15 UTC from web in context
  18. @yuri Of course it is, but their goals have no proper intellectual basis. If they were to decide what was supposed to happen, it would result in absolute disaster.

  19. @doates Invisible Children themselves are advocating military action against the Ugandan government. This should be enough for any well-informed individual to oppose them.

  20. I cannot believe that this site is jumping on the ridiculous, sensationalist bandwagon based around ignorance. that is "KONY". I suspect that people who give attention to this movement are simply those desperately looking for something to belong to, but who do not wish to put in effort into finding a worthwhile cause. This campaign will not change anything. In fact, it might provoke unrest and instability in the very country that they are trying to protect the interests of. I urge you to inform yourself and to not let yourself be swayed by sensationalism and propaganda. Seek the truth and justice. Do not seek to simply belong to a popular cause. What the Invisible Children movement are advocating would only make the situation worse. Less than one third of the funds that the organization has gathered went to African charities. The majority of it went to lobbying. http://ababaka.com/cms/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=12&id=9790&Itemid=45&lang=en

  24. Hello there, everyone. I have not logged in for a while. If you would excuse the shameless self-promotion, I would like to inform you that, if anyone here has a particular interest in astronomy, you might be interested in following me on twitter. If I gather sufficient followers, I will start tweeting and retweeting things that I might find interesting. The topic will often be related to astronomy, but not exclusively. I will also tweet things that are related to ponies, Minecraft, politics, and so on. http://twitter.com/todiwan
