I need some insight everypony. I have enough time for one more project in my sculpting class. It's going to be a bust. It can be of anything. My original idea was a bust of Freya from FFIX, but then I got to thinking. What if I did a bust of a pony? I thought about doing one of Fluttershy winking to the bird on her head in Winter Wrap Up, but I keep thinking of other ideas and can't decide. So guys I ask you, what pony would you like to see a bust of?

@bigponymac I think Fluttershy with the bird is a great idea because it shows a great expression, her personality, and can easily be tweaked to create great visual interest. Other ponies may need props that will force you to "zoom out" to make them work effectively as a well-designed sculpture. :)

@pixellatedponi That's exactly what I was thinking when I thought of that scene. The only problem I see is the length of her hair because it will come down further than her shoulders.

@bigponymac Hmm, maybe have it hit the "ground" plane where her bust stops and come out and/or around her. Might make for excellent movement in the composition. Or have her bust sit on a pedestal where the rest of the hair continues down to where it would stop normally even though her bust stops? Hmm! Just ideas. :)

@bigponymac The Rainbow Dash might be easier to pull off b/c her hair is shorter. Which pony do yo prefer? :D That can help you decide. Also, how much time do you have for said project?

@pixellatedponi Which pony do I prefer? I love all of them! That's why it's hard to choose. lol I have probably two and a half weeks to work on this, but I only have class twice a week.

@pixellatedponi It's probably going to be a toss up among Fluttershy, Dash, and Big Mac, but I'm leaning towards Fluttershy because I think that would be a really good composition.

@bigponymac well if you are leaning towards Fluttershy, give this one a look http://ponibooru.413chan.net/post/view/7068 . Ordinary cheap cherries woodglue I used some X years ago on a project worked wonders as tears. But I dont know what you are capable of ofc :)

@critialcloudkicker This is what I had in mind for Fluttershy. Tears would be a challenge. I'd have to add those after the clay was fired. Not sure how I'd go about it though. http://ur1.ca/3w9yy

@bigponymac Yeah I'd talk to your instructor for sure. He might just have you stop the hair where you stop the bust for the sake of ease. :)

@bigponymac I think that'd be a fine bust subject - and would turn out well. Alternatively, you could try something with Big Mac, as his mane is probably easier to model. Plus the smile to his face just works well.

@bigponymac Please take into account the rules of physics here bigponymac. ponies of FiM have a BIG head, you dont want your pony to tumble over forward in the middle of your creative process. as for which pony... ( sorta keeping in mind the thing above ) applejack ? It has a nice center gravity thing going on :)

@bigponymac ohkay, I'm having the hardest time coming up with an idea that would NOT make your sculpture look like everyother pony. given that you probably want whoever it is to see this sculpture to go "hmm, I'm fairly sure i saw something like this before" I'm having the hardest time finding anything worthwile... and its not even my project :) ... glad to make you laugh about that earlier picture doh :)

@critialcloudkicker I know. It's hard to come up with an idea that would bring out each pony's personality. I'm not a fan of shipping but I can't help but laugh at some of the pics and comics. :)
